The Mai Zetterling Grant

Is awarded to a director attaining high artistic quality and who expands the horizons of short or documentary film.

This scholarship is given out by The Swedish Arts Grants Committee and the Mai Zetterling Artist Foundation’s stipend is awarded to a director attaining high artistic quality and who expands the horizons of short or documentary film. It is awarded without application. The grant is for 200,000 SEK and awarded at the opening ceremony.

The 2017 Mai Zetterling Grant was awarded to the director Ahang Bashi, who among other works directed the documentary Skörheten (Fragility).  She is currently working on her first fiction feature The Gods (Working title) based on a book by Elin Cullhed.
