Göteborg International Film Festival has conducted an audience survey to find out more about its visitors. The most striking result is that 99.7% say they will visit the festival again.

According to the study the typical visitor is an educated, culturally interested person under 45 who follows a newspaper and donates money to charity. 56% are women, 59% are under 45 years old and 83% are university educated. In addition, 63% donated to charity in recent years (52% in the rest of Sweden) and 84% read a daily newspaper (64% in the rest of Sweden). It is also an audience that is active, travels, goes to cultural events and exercises more than the average in Sweden.

14% of the visitors were born outside Sweden, which is consistent with the national average. Each year the festival shows films from more than 70 countries, making it a unique opportunity for many people to see films in their own language.

The audience's favorite theatre venue is without doubt the Draken theatre (Dragon theatre) and most visitors will see an average of 4-5 films per festival and find that the range of films is the best thing about the festival (about 450 films are screened).

2,200 people responded to the survey.

If you missed the movie Cairo 678 at the festival, you now have the chance when it´s screened for the last time at Bio Roy 19 March.

The film was sold out during the festival and was part of the Arab focus. Show your festival pass (or say "GIFF") when you buy your tickets and you'll get it for 70 SEK (normal price 90 SEK).

About the film:
A powerful and topical drama providing a realistic insight into an unknown part Egyptian everyday life. By skillfully weaving together the fates of three women, director Mohamed Diab tells the story of a society plagued by sexual harrassment and a crippled judicial system. The three main characters have all been exposed to sexual harrassment, while going to work, watching a football game or on the street outside their homes. They decide to get back at the perpetrators - each in their own way. Visually, the film is Dogme inspired, causing a feeling of first-hand account that lends it additional credibility.
