Opening Party
When: 21.00–05.00 cet, 29 january
Where: Trädgår’n
Göteborg International Film Festival is the biggest film festival in the Nordic Countries! As tradition dictates, we kick off with a gigantic party at Trägår'n, with three stages, Swedish and foreign movie stars behind the turntables and a bombastic yet generous program.
The theme for this year's festivities is, of course, Sharing – the main theme of the festival. Now brought down to street level and the four elements of hip hop, with poster artist Ekta and a bunch of street artists and skaters in the vanguard. Also: Swedish as well as international VJ:s.
The live acts include this year's breakthrough act [Ingenting], the powerhouse Makthaverskan, critically acclaimed kraut pop duo Fontän, the dance-inducing Maskinen and the band Far & Son. Also: Nathalie Barusta-Gäbel's already pre-hyped and original band Bow & Arrow. Last but not least: as seen on Swedish TV – "På Spåret" conductor Daniel Gilbert.
Music comes courtesy of all the clubs from the Festival Tent. Read more about the clubs in the tent here.
Do you want to perform with your band? Take the chance to be the opening act. Compete at Opening Act.

No disrespect to our Swedish and international award winners, but the real winners of the festival are, of course, You – the audience. When Storan opens up its doors after the award ceremony, everyone's welcome to join the after-party. As usual there will be extraordinary entertainment and an unbeatable atmosphere in a fantastic setting. Dance with the winners, console the losers and rub shoulders with guests from far away. Göteborgs Indiekör (GIK) will set the tone by bringing choir music beyond the traditional repertoire with artists like Radiohead, Björk, Arcade Fire, The Knife and Kate Bush. GIK isn't a lark, GIK isn't Billboard. GIK is indie – indie pop. (www.myspace.com/weareallgiks)
