International Film Submission
The following does only apply to non-Swedish films. Swedish feature films, documentaries and shorts can be submitted here until November 4.
The international film submission is closed
The film submission to GIFF 2014 closed on October 7. Please direct all questions regarding the status of your application, late submissions etc. to email@example.com
We take applications for:
1. Feature films available on 35mm, DCP, Digibeta PAL or HDCam (not HDCam SR!). The length must be 72 minutes minimum.
2. Documentaries available on 35mm, Digibeta PAL or HDCam. The length must be 45 minutes minimum. Please note that we do not take applications for international shorts.
To be considered for GIFF 2014 the submitted film must have had its first public screening after January 1, 2013. Please note that any screening of the film in Sweden prior to the Festival automatically disqualifies the film from participating in the Göteborg International Film Festival.
All applications must be made through our website: www.giff.se. GIFF charges an application fee of 30 Euro. This is an administrative fee, and does not guarantee that the film will be selected. The only way to submit a film to GIFF 2014 is to complete the online submission form, pay the entry fee with a credit card and send a DVD or a link to an online screener of your film to us. The entry fee is non-refundable.
Both the DVD and the exhibition print/DCP/tape must have English subtitles (if the original dialogue is not entirely in English). Unfortunately GIFF doesn’t have the possibility to return the DVD’s, or to leave detailed feedback on your film other than accepted/not accepted. The program committee's decision of accepted/not accepted will be announced to you on December 31, 2013 or earlier.
If your film corresponds with the above mentioned criterions, you are most welcome to submit to our up-coming 37th Göteborg International Film Festival.
Göteborg International Film Festival has two competitions for feature films:
Dragon Award Best Nordic Film – open for feature films from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and Denmark.
Dragon Award Best Nordic Documentary – open for documentaries from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and Denmark.
The Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award – open for feature films by first and second time directors.
