Acquiring tickets

You can purchase tickets through our web site or at one of our festival ticket desks.

Buying tickets online

Tickets can be ordered as of 12 Noon on Saturday, January 12, at our web site right up to the end of the festival on February 4. Tickets purchased online are collected at our pre-order desks or at the festival cinemas. We do not deliver tickets by mail.

When purchasing tickets online on our website, you can also find out more about the films, see the number of available seats and find information about any changes.

Pre-ordering for GIFF Plus members begins January 10 at 4 PM.

Getting tickets before the festival at our ticket desks
Between January 12 and January 24, it is also possible to acquire tickets at our advance booking desks.

Pre-ordering for GIFF Plus members takes place January 10–11, 4 PM–7 PM, at cinema Draken. If you're not a member, you can register on the spot.

Buying tickets during the festival


At 12 noon on Friday, January 25, the ticket desks open at cinema Draken, cinema Biopalatset, Konserthuset (The concert hall) and our Info Centre (the pavilion located between cinema Draken and Pustervik). Ticket desks at the other festival cinemas open 30 minutes before their first screening of the day.

Throughout the festival, you can buy tickets at any festival cinema, starting half an hour before the first screening and right until the start of the day's final screening.

PLEASE NOTE! Since we are now working with a cash-free bank, it's difficult for us to give change. Please pay by credit card if possible. Thanks in advance!

•    Film screening: SEK 80 (unless specifically stated otherwise)
•    Festival Pass: SEK 40
•    GIFF Plus Membership SEK 300
•    Film Festival Party SEK 295 (Pustervik, Saturday, Jan 26)
•    Discount tickets: SEK 60 (For screenings starting until 4.45 PM on weekdays).
•    Weekday Pass: SEK 350 (Valid for screenings starting until 4.45 PM on weekdays).

Festival Pass

As a Göteborg International Film Festival visitor you need a personal Festival Pass. The Festival Pass is SEK 40 and valid for entrance to our Festival Centre in Pustervik, seminars and other activities during the festival – with certain exceptions. The pass is valid for one person only and must be shown upon entrance to all screenings, seminars and activities.  

Weekday Pass

The Weekday Pass is SEK 350 (the mandatory Festival Pass is included). It gives you access to all weekday screenings starting no later than 4.45 PM, as long as there are seats available. Sold-out screenings not included. First come, first served. (Check out the number of available seats at www.giff.se or by using our app).

Discounts

Starting Friday, Jan 25, students,  senior citizens and those unemployed can buy tickets at a discount price of SEK 60 to screenings starting no later than 4.45 PM on weekdays. These tickets can only be purchased at our ticket desks (not online). This also applies to our "Läsvärdet" discount.

Christmas gift tickets

Christmas tickets / packages are valid as gift vouchers and can be exchanged for film tickets at any of our ticket desks as of January 12, 12 Noon, until the end of the festival on February 4. Please note: these vouchers can NOT be redeemed online.


Info Centre

During the festival, you will find our Info Desk, Festival Shop, Ticket Office and Industry Desk in our pavilion, located between Draken and Pustervik. Here is where you find information about the festival and ticket-related issues, as well as posters, T-shirts and other neat festival merchandise in our shop.

Festival App

Our app is available for both iPhone and Android. Just search for GIFF in App Store or Android Market. The app lets you create your own schedule, see how many tickets are left for a screening, write comments and film tips, watch clips from the festival and get an overview of the entire festival programme.

Trams

The easiest to way to get to the various screenings is by tram. In a collaboration with Västtrafik, we can offer you two kinds of travel passes. One valid for the entire city (including buses), at SEK 125, and one valid only on tram number 6, at SEK 50. Travel passes can be bought at any festival ticket desk and are valid throughout the festival, including night services.
